Dublin Bay has UNESCO biosphere status and we want to keep it. The Irish government is in breach of EU legislation and as a result the water quality in Dublin Bay is rapidly deteriorating.

Order Of Business in the Seanad Éireann
Thanks to Senator Barry Ward who represents the Dún Laoghaire constituency for asking why sea swimmers are not deserving of regularly tested water to allow them make informed decisions before they swim.

In the Dáil chamber with Minister Ryan
Deputy Bacik had the opportunity to raise the issue of an amendment to SI 79/2008 (The Bathing Water Quality Regulations), with Minister Ryan which would allow local authorities define the bathing season .
She also learnt that Minister Ryan got an infection which he thinks might of been from swimming in polluted water!!
